ExampleJoshua, age 7, comes to the practice due to difficulties in the area of writing. From the occupational therapy evaluation writing cramp, delays in the pencilholding and the letter formation, hyperactivity, poor sitting posture and deficient concentration are found. Occupational therapy treatment is started. After a period of time the sitting posture is improved and the writing cramp is diminished. |

| The movement of the pencil over the paper is more fluent. However writing the letters of a word in sequence and the formation of some letters still continues to be a problem. It is decided that a neuropsychological evaluation should take place. The evaluation shows deficiencies in spelling as well as in lettersign - lettersound translation. When this is directed by neuropsychological treatment, the letters can soon be written. | |
